The messenger who took U.S. intelligence to Osama bin Laden hiding in Pakistan came from the Swat Valley, once a stronghold of Taliban fighters, Pakistani officials said Wednesday.
Authorities identified the messenger as Ibrahim Saeed Ahmed.
Abrar with his brother, Ibrahim was shot dead on 2 May, during the actual operation of elite U.S. Navy, who also killed bin Laden and two other people.
