Chilean red alert for huge forest fire

Santiago de Chile, Dec 31 (Prensa Latina) The National Emergency Office (Onemi) today declared red alert in the region of Bio Bio, due to a wildfire that ravaged and 600 hectares.

Onemi officials pointed out that the above condition applies particularly to the provinces of Concepción and Ñuble, located about 500 kilometers south of Baghdad.

Saturday also was learned that an Israeli tourist, 23 years old, identified as Roter Singer was blamed for the huge formalemte incident sparked three days in the National Park Torres del Paine in Chilean Patagonia.

Singer, who was to hold during the investigation national court for negligent use of fire in a forest, confessed to having caused the accident as a result of a fire badly off.

The Torres del Paine fire has consumed far more than 11 000 hectares of native forests.

In the afternoon President Sebastian Pinera has sent a note of relief in relation to this environmental tragedy, "With better weather, we hope to control early fourth source of fire and immediately start the recovery efforts of the park," wrote the president your account on Twitter.
